TuanTuan Til You Drop Promo 2018

I’m always excited to try new restaurants or new food especially if there are discounts/promos!  So this time hubby told me about this ongoing promo at Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie

Promo is called Tuan Tuan til you drop which started last Jul2 and ends 31Jul.  Too bad we just found out about it this week but never the less we were able to try it and it was a great eat!

Upon arrival at the restaurant we were handed the menu and this special promo menu.  Of course we have decided to try their unli promo already so we didn’t bother looking at the menu.

Based from the flyer and menu it’s only Php498 but taxes/service charge are not yet included so in total each person will have to pay Php543.  So how does it go?  You first choose from the single order selection… either Macanese style dishes, Ala Carte, Signature Curry, Rice & Noodles or Create your own noodle soup.  I chose Laksa Soup while hubby got the Sweet and sour balsamic spareribs.  Then you can now choose from the unlimited order section.  Siomai is served per order which is 4 pcs per container while Snow buns are served per piece.

While waiting for our order I snapped a few photos of their floor which I love, the interior as well as their paper place mats.

We were first served the siomai and the Barbeque Pork Snow Buns which we immediately ordered 3 pcs.

Then came our single orders the Laksa and Spareribs.

Then the Crispy Beancurd sheet rolls with fresh shrimps and chives.

For dessert I ordered 1 pc of the salted egg custard snow buns.  Looking at my photos right now I realized that we didn’t order that much!  In total we only had 2 orders of siomai, the single orders, 6 pcs of buns (5 pork bbq+1 salted egg) and the beancurd. I don’t think that was a lot but we felt really full.  Being the deal lover that I am I had to make a computation if what we ate is more than what we paid for so based on their menu our bill should’ve been … Php1,486 plus tax around Php1619.74

Malay Laksa Noodle  Php398

Sweet & Sour Balsamic Spareribs  Php328

Siomai Php148 x 2 = Php296

Crispy Beancurd Php168

Snow Buns  (1 order 3 pcs each) Php148 x 2 = Php296

With that computation written down at least I am at peace. Hahaha.  Food is yummy especially the snow buns.  Service at UP Town branch is also great.  Hopefully we could go back again before the deal ends.  How about you have you tried this restaurant?

Milky & Sunny, Pasig

When my friends and I went for a staycation in Marco Polo hotel we opted not to eat breakfast there and decided to explore the Pasig area restaurants.  Since it was too early we ended with Milky & Sunny.  It was a small restaurant which according to my friend already has a lot of reviews.  So I tried not to expect too much.

The place is a bit small and parking space can be a challenge specially during peak hours.  Interior is cute and looks really clean with the white paint.

They have a 1 page back to back laminated menu which makes it easier to order however with a hungry tummy it’s still hard to decide.  Hehe. It took a while for us to order but we decided on the following :

milky1                                                                       Tapa Php200

milky2                                                                          Big plate Php300

milky4                                                                          Chicken Php180

milky3                                                                      Cheesy Jalapeno Pancake Php250

All in all the food was okay. I’m not really sure if it’s because of what we ordered but it’s not really something worth raving about.  Breakfast platter is probably the best thing to order since you get to choose a lot of “breakfast goodies”. This resto will be under my been there list.  Not really something that I would crave for or return to.  But I did get my tummy full. :o)  Anyway I may be wrong so I suggest you go and try it yourself.  You can check out their FB page at

CCME Homemade Food Stuff Carrot Cake

In my search for cakes below Php500 I remembered one of my “go to” delivery company which is CCME.  I don’t know if you have tried them yet but they have several items on their menu that are tasty and affordable for pot luck parties, office gatherings and other events.  I checked their website and found what I was looking for.  They also have cakes!  I usually order savory dishes so it was my first time to try their cake.  Since I love carrot cakes I decided to go for it.

ccmecake1                                                                         CCME Carrot Cake Php380

ccmecake2                                                                                  how it looks like inside

I knew I shouldn’t expect too much with a price like that but at least I gave it a try.  Hehe.  Let’s just say that this isn’t their specialty.  The icing is a bit thin which is sad.  It wasn’t also as sweet as it should be.  It tasted more of butter than cream cheese? The cake was a bit dense and a little hard to swallow.  But they did use some walnuts which is good.  They also charge for the delivery which depends on your location.

Anyway I should just say that in case you want to try CCME go for their “savory” food.  But I don’t give up easily and will probably try one more cake on their menu.  Hopefully when they say that is their specialty it would be for real and that it will taste better than the carrot cake.  :o)  You can check out their website at  Have you tried any of their dishes?  What do you like the most?

Lung Hin, Marco Polo Hotel, Pasig City

One of my good friend came home from Australia and we decided to spend an all-day girls’ day-off at the Marco Polo Hotel in Pasig City.  We were already checked in but we haven’t eaten lunch yet so we went to their Chinese restaurant located at the 44th floor.  Although the hotel is near Robinsons Mall we were all too lazy to walk and found a few more other good reasons to stay within the hotel.

With eagerness to catch up on the story of our lives we ordered right away… almost.  Their menu is full of good stuff that we had a hard time deciding.  After a few minutes we settled with an appetizer, soup, main course and of course rice!  Before the food is served the waiters gave us some prawn crackers to nibble while waiting.

MarcoP1                                                        Lung Hin Restaurant

Lung Hin menu                                                            Their menu

Lung Hin2                                                            Scallop Dumpling Php214.29++

MarcoP3                                                              Pork Siomai Php196.43++

MarcoP5                                                             Garlic Spareribs Php196.43++

MarcoP2                                                                Soy Chicken Php696.43++

MarcoP4                                                               Crabmeat Fritter Php607.14++

I didn’t get to take pictures of the Yang Chow fried rice good for 4 pax at Php428.57, Corn Crab soup and Spinach Seafood soup each cup at Php339.29++ because we were already hungry.  So what can I say about the food?  Food is delicious but not all of them. Hehe.  Take for instance the soup for me it was expensive and taste like a “normal” crab and corn soup.  I understand that hotel restaurants are sometimes a bit pricier but Php300 for a cup of crab and corn soup doesn’t really justify it.  What I like  is the scallop dumpling and the crabmeat fritter.  Total amount spent was Php3617.57 because of the taxes.  What can I say… charge it to experience.  It’s not everyday you get to eat in a hotel and with an ambiance to match right?  Anyway food is best enjoyed with good company and that’s what we had! :o)

Have you tried their restaurant?  Which food can you recommend? Check out their menu here :

Cake Studio, Rolex St., Fairview

I have been searching for affordable cakes initially for my son’s monthly birthday however with all the birthdays within the family I feel that I have to continue my search and try other bakeshops. For me to consider that bakeshop I have a few requirements :

1. It should be a “new” bakeshop/cake that I haven’t tried.

2. It offers delivery or pick-up place is convenient.

3. Cake price should not exceed Php500.

With all these in mind and with my sister’s birthday coming up I searched the internet and chanced upon Cake Studio located along Rolex St. in Fairview.  I contacted them and found out that they deliver cakes with a delivery fee of Php80 and their round cakes ranges from Php250 to Php800.  I ordered a 6″ round sansrival cake for Php550 and a day before the delivery date I received a message asking me if it’s okay if they will give me a 9″ round cake instead.  Of course my answer is a big YES!  What does the cake look like?

Cakestudio1                                                                                  Sansrival Cake Php550

cake2                                                                                  Cashew Nuts on the side

cake3                                                                                  Chewy and buttery inside

Since it’s not the usual cake I requested if it’s possible for them to add a dedication on the cake and they gladly customized it with edible beads.  The cake was not too sweet which makes you forget about the calories and have another serving.  :o)  They also offer other cakes such as Tres Leches, Strawberry Yogurt and Chocolate cake.  You can check out their facebook page at  They also serve savory items which hopefully we will also try next time.  Have you tried their savory treats?  How about the cakes?  Any recommendations?  Drop me a message.  :o)

IHOP, UP Town Center

We have all heard when IHOP opened it’s doors to the Filipinos right?  Let’s just say that we are one of those people who waits until the chaos has died down before we try a restaurant.  Hehe.  I have been wanting to try this restaurant but couldn’t find the reason to eat there.  So what changed?  First I spotted a deal at Ensogo and second we had to get a cake at the UP Town Center (which is also on a deal by the way).  Makes perfect sense.

Ihop menu                                                                                                    IHOP Menu

A few days before the trip I had to make sure I check out their menu to help me decide on what to order and just to make sure that we won’t be splurging too much.  The voucher is Php350 but you get Php500 worth of food.  Just to make sure we have enough I bought 2 vouchers.

Print the vouchers…check! Head on to the chosen restaurant and show the server the voucher and order away!  While waiting for our orders I took a photo of the syrup on the table.  They have four!  Old fashioned, strawberry, blueberry and butter pecan.

ihop3                                                                                        4 choices of syrup

We ordered the following :

ihop2                                                                       New York Cheese Pancake Php254.46

The pancakes were fluffy and you can really taste the cream cheese.  I’m not a fan of pancakes but I liked this one.  You can definitely tell that this is not homemade pancake.

ihop4                                                                           Double BLT Sandwich Php343.75

This sandwich is a little normal for me.  Don’t get me wrong it tastes good but not really spectacular.
ihop5                                                                            Spicy Chicken Strips Php352.68

When I saw this in the menu I assumed that it is going to be spicy but when it was served on our table it tasted “normal”.  No sting no sweetness just plain chicken strips.  We called the server and asked if it was our order and he confirmed that it is the “spicy” chicken strips.  I had to laugh and asked the server to tell the chef that it wasn’t spicy. Not even a hint of it.  So they got it and after a few minutes they returned with a real spicy chicken strips! Hehe.  I don’t know if it’s just me or if they forgot to put some chili or what.  So if you do order this one let me know how it taste like.  Also I would have love it more if they served celery stalks than carrots.  Sad to say I’m not a carrot person.

All in all our experience in IHOP has been enjoyable.  They have a variety of food to choose from so definitely a second visit is in order.  Maybe another order of pancake?  :o)
